The HP 3048A Phase Noise Measurement System uses the power of a flexible software program (see below) to automate the measurement of the phase noise of a carrier signal. The basic 3048A system includes the 11848A phase noise interface containing the phase detectors and phase lock loop circuitry & the 3561A dynamic signal analyzer.
HP 3561A Single Channel Dynamic Signal Analyzer 0.000125 Hz to 100 kHz
Spectrum analysis 1/3 and 1/1 octave analysis.
Time capture (40 k sample).
High speed (7.5 kHz real time.
High Accuracy + .15 Db.
80 dB dynamic range to 640 µHz resolution bandwidth.
Accuracy +0.003% of display center frequency.
Resolution 0.25% of frequency span.
Amplitude Measurement range +27 to -120 dBV noise floor -

Input Impedance 1X106 ohm + 5% shunted by 95 pF maximum.
Option 201 included: Adds the 1.2 to 18 GHz phase detector and is required to measure the phase noise on carriers above 1.6 GHz. when used with the HP 8664A (8664A NOT included)
It interfaces with the HP 98580B OPT ABA and 008, Series 300 or 9836S OPT 001, Series 200 computers and uses the HP-HIL knob keyboard. These are NOT included, and you will have to check with Agilent to see if the system is compatible with your computers.
The system uses a software program to automate the measurement of the phase noise of a carrier signal. We have some 3048A software which is included, but am not sure if it is the complete set. We would also supply 3 x BNC cables and 2 x GPIB Cables.
