Product Description
The Delta/CVSD Encoder converts audio input signals to Delta Modulated or Continuously Variable Slope Delta (CVSD) modulated output signals. Delta Modulation uses a more direct encoding process than PCM. In Delta
Modulation, an analog signal is sampled and either a 1 or a 0 is transmitted at each sample point, depending on whether the sample size is larger or smaller than the previous sample size. The use of CVSD considerably increases the dynamic range of the audio input signals that can be used. Using the Delta/CVSD Encoder, students gain an understanding of the Delta Modulation encoding process. The difference between Delta Modulation and CVSD can be studied, together with their performance at different rates.
