Product Description
Johnston Laboratories Triton Model 111 Tritium Air Monitor
Includes: monitor, air hose in photo and wooden carrying case only.
The TRITON Model 111 is an ion chamber type instrument used to detect, monitor and measure tritium in air. Other radioactive gases may also be monitored and measured; however, a calibration scale factor (customer calculated) must be used for each new gas since the instrument was originally only calibrated for tritium. The Model 111 operates on an intemal battery (customer supplied) or on 115VAC line power and its range is 0-106 µCi/m3
Characteristics
A. Detector specifications
1. 0.88 liter volume gamma compensated ion chamber
B. Magnitude response
1. 0 to 106 uCi/m3
C. Environmental Sensitivity
1. Temperature - operable between temperatures of 32 to 122°F provided the instrument temperature and air dewpoint produce no condensation or frosting on or within the monitor
2. Sensitive to gamma radiation
Limitations on use
Be aware that gamma radiation can cause a false indication of tritium.
