The basic purpose of the splicer's test set cable spllicing test mode is to assist the splicer in identifying, locating and clearing defective pairs during the splicing operation. Use of the splicer's test set can significantly reduce the number of bad pairs turned up on the initial cable acceptance test. It can also be used to quickly and accurately identify and locate conductor faults for repair and maintenance operations.
