The four dial readings are 0-1000,00 feet, for velocities from 200 to 3,000 FPM (feet per minute). They have a jewelled movement disconnector, zero-setting attachment, correction chart and instruction leaflet. The diameter is 4 1/4 inches and it weighs in at 8.5 ozs. It comes in a leather case, not pictured.

This unit is housed in a cylindrical metal case, with a hinged lid, and strap.
The base contains the altimeter, which is simply an aneroid barometer. This is sealed behind a glass face to prevent moisture entering.
The lid has conversion scales "Air temperature and Relative humidity correction factors for Altitude", behind which used to clip in a hygrometer (not included). There is also a Correction (feet) Graph included.
This was a field Altimeter which operated by the atmospheric pressure bending the elastic top of a partially evacuated drum, actuating a pointer. The hygrometer could be removed from the lid and spun in the air so that a measure can be made of air temperature and relativity humidity (not included). After both barometer and hygrometer measurements are taken, the tables are used to evaluate the approximate altitude.
