Diagnostic Instruments Spot Jr CCD Microscope Camera, including Nikon Camera Coupler, Power Supply & Cables

    SPOT JR. FEATURES:
  • Economical Color Digital Image Capture for a Variety of Microscopy Needs: SPOT JR. has been designed to provide an economical solution for the color digital image capture needs of microscopy. No other camera in this price range provides the unique combination of performance, resolution, software and ease of use.
  • The SPOTJR. is designed specifically for a microscope and offers easy, friendly software to guide you through the process of creating color digital images.
  • The SPOT JR. also features a cooled CCD which helps deliver clean, crisp, noise free images for low light level applications.
  • Superior Color Resolution: The SPOT JR. delivers superior resolution when compared to other cameras in the same price range, especially 1 CCD video cameras with framegrabbers.
  • SPOT JR. collects nearly 1.2 million data points using 3-shot image capture technology. This method delivers true and accurate color values for red, green and blue to each pixel, by exposing the CCD three times (once for each color). Other cameras use color interpolation in which a large percentage of the colors are calculated and are not true values. This can result in color artifacts that are especially noticeable when zooming in on the sample.

    INCLUDED:
  • 1 x Diagnostic Instruments SPOT Jr. CCD Microscope Camera Model 1.5.0
  • 1 x Diagnostic Instruments SP401-115 Power Supply for the Camera (120 VAC, 60 Hz, 2 Amp, 1 Phase
  • 1 x Diagnostic Instruments HRD045-NIK Nikon F-Mount 0.45X 1CCD Camera Coupler with 1X Clamp

Leitz Wetzlar / E. Leitz Wetzlar No. 8949 Microscope Camera Accessory - Vintage, Made in Germany
This item has the black crackle enamel of yesteryear, but I'm not sure what it is.
I'm guessing that the specimen is "seen" through the port shown in the upper photo. The image is then reflected from the mirror through the eyepiece (which can be focussed). On its way to the eyepiece, it goes through either a translucent or semi-opaque window. This can be selected by rotating the window holder. The mirror can be moved, which then blocks the eyepiece, but makes a clear path through the port to the other side which I think is where the camera would be attached.

Microscope Optics - Adjustable Angle Mirror / Reflector
I'm guessing that this fastens under a stage and reflects light through the sample on the stage, but honestly, I'm not sure what it is.

It has the same finish as a some Carl Zeiss items we have had, but there are no names or numbers on the body.
The mirror can be angled as desired and a set screw holds the position. The aluminium section (O.D. 33mm) is where it fastens , but the black body is hinged, so you can move it.

O

Objective / Lens Accessory - Vintage - TSS#GSO16
I can tell it is vintage, as it is black enamel over brass. On the side, it says Nur für Oel which translates to Only for Oil.
It has very fine threads, so it screws into something and I'm guessing that is an oel objective. The lens seems to be about 5mm thick and magnifies. The O.D. of the threaded section is 12mm, and the lens diameter is 5mm. The outside of the glass lens is flat, but inside it is convex.

Optem Zoom 70XL Optical System with Optem 29-90-72 1.0, Optem 29-90-56 & Mitutoyo 378-811-2 Objective
Optem’s Zoom 70XL Optical System represents the pinnacle in reliability when it comes to heavy-duty cycling.
With a 7:1 core zoom ratio, and a magnification range of 0.75X to 5.25X, the Zoom 70XL provides dependable, high-quality optics at an affordable price. The core Zoom 70XL boasts a numerical aperture range of 0.024 to 0.08 with minimum resolution of 240 lp/mm at maximum magnification.

THIS UNIT IS COMPRISED OF THE FOLLOWING MODULES:

  • 39-96-10-309 Zoom 70XL: Upper Zoom Module, Manual Zoom w/ Iris Diaphragm. Iris diaphragms enable you to increase depth-offield and/or maintain constant image brightness.

  • 29-60-84-310 Lower Fuction Module. This module provides a port for the injection of incident light and attaches Infinity-Corrected Objectives (not incl.) to your 70XL. I believe it can be used with the Dual Focus Vertical Illuminator, VSI 220 Illuminator, 220V/150W available from Thales-Optem.

  • 378-811-2 Mitutoyo M Plan Apo Infinity-Corrected Objective. 50X ULWD, 0.42 Aperature, 20mm Working Distance, f=200. Significantly higher magnification and increased resolution is obtained by combining the Zoom 70XL Optical System with this infinity-corrected objective.

  • 29-90-72 Optem Standard TV Tube 1.0X. The purpose of TV Tubes is to hold the camera at the correct image plane. Without it, you are left with a variable-focal-length lens of unknown magnification.

  • 29-90-56 Optem DIN Eyepiece Adapter “C” Thread to Nikon and Olympus

Reichert / C. Reichert Swing-out Abbe Condenser with Variable Iris Control - Vintage, Made in Austria
I think the swing-out convex lens on this vintage optic is a light diffuser as it is semi-translucent. The iris moves smoothly. The brass ring in the middle is 38mm dia and I think is where the condenser would mount in a ring on the microscope.

Vickers Metallurgical Projection Microscope MO.51564
During the 1930s it became apparent that an All-in-One microscope would be the ideal tool for labs. Ideally, the microscope would be able to changeover from epi- to transmitted light illumination and even from photo-micrography to photomacrography, whilst a wide range of accessories would make the whole gamut of available microscopical techniques available ‘at the flick of the wrist’. Vickers answered this call with their Projection microscope. It is a large and versatile microscope with specific application in the metallurgical field
