The TTC FIREBERD 2000 data error analyzer can be used to test both Data Terminal Equipment or Data Communications Equipment, if used with the appropriate interface. The fully independent transmitter and receiver allows loop-around or end-to-end testing. It can measure BER at any data rate between 100 bps and 14 Mbps. It is also capable of measuring transmit frequency, receive frequency, or the frequency of a signal input through its rear panel BNC input. An oscilloscope can analyze data further by connecting to the FIREBERD 2000's rear panel test points. Other features include a real-time clock, automatic data polarity detection, automatic synchronization, and the ability to count through error bursts.
